How To Achieve Personal Growth (Backed By Scripture)

We’re on a personal growth journey for as long as we live. Sometimes, we make more significant progress in our growth than at other times. Today, I wanted to share 5 Practical Ways To Achieve Personal Growth. I have been implementing these things into my personal growth journey and hope they can help you.

#1 Spend Time In Solitude And Offline

I’ve found that most personal growth happens privately when you're alone and have time to think and process. Solitude gives you time to think about who you are and want to become. Jesus spent time in solitude, and I believe following his example will also help us grow. Sometimes, we must turn down the world's noise and social media/media for our voices and God’s voice to be amplified.

"And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone" - Matthew 14:23

#2 Work On Your Relationship With Self

There isn’t a time when we are not with ourselves and God; therefore, these are our most important relationships. If our relationship with ourselves isn’t good, we can’t be very good to anyone else. Spend time on self-care, self-respect, and learning to love yourself more.

"And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." - Matthew 22:39

#3 Pray Often

Whatever situation you may be facing and needing help getting through, ask God because he is willing and able to help. God can handle hearing our petitions and complaints, but let’s not forget to give Him our praises. I pray all day long, asking God to help me with everything and to provide me with strength; He hasn’t failed me yet. I don't always know how things will turn out, but God knows, and I trust Him.

"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." - James 4:8

#4 Forgive

If there are any grudges you are holding onto, let them go. This life is too short to be mad and hold grudges. Forgive, let it go, and be free. When you forgive others, you’re not only setting them free; you’re setting yourself free. I am amazed at how much growth I’ve experienced by simply forgiving.

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” - Colossians 3:13

#5 Focus On What You Can Control

I used to worry a lot about how things would turn out in my life. I still worry sometimes, but nowhere near as much as I did in the past. Now I believe everything God has for us is already ours. We don't have to strive and chase; We should do what we can and focus on what we can control. Once we've done that, we should be patient and listen to God's leading for our next steps.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6

I hope this helps you in your personal growth journey this month. Let me know in the comments what point resonated with you.
